Belakangan ini, tiap kali aku lagi jalan-jalan entah ke mana, di setiap sudut ada saja kembang api yang meluncur ke angkasa terus meledak di depan wajahku. Bikin aku kaget, awalnya, tapi kemudian aku malah ketawa-ketawa memandangi percikan-percikannya menyala. Terus sekarang aku jadi kebiasaan. Malah sudah nyaris sampai tahap kecanduan.

Misalnya, waktu lagi di dalam mobil pagi hari terus hujan deras turun di luar, dan sekelilingku jadi putih karena kabut, aku sudah tahu bakal ada kembang api yang meledak di antara pepohonan nggak lama kemudian. Lalu, ledakan kembang api waktu lagi mesen hazelnut latte di Starbucks. Waktu lagi dengerin iPod dan lagu yang familiar itu diputar. Juga di bioskop XXI yang lampunya temaram jingga dan udaranya dipenuhi wangi berondong jagung mentega dan karamel, there goes another fireworks show.

Yang paling heboh sih memang kalau sedang menelusuri rak-rak di sepanjang lorong supermarket; di situ aku mesti siap-siap mengantisipasi ledakan kembang api berkali-kali. Ledakan di depan lemari pendingin penuh bento dan sushi, di depan tumpukan semangka kuning, di depan deretan jus kiwi dan puding tofu rasa kopi… rasanya seperti lagi nonton pawai tahun baruan atau terperangkap di dalam novel Harry Potter waktu Laskar Dumbledore lagi latihan duel pakai tongkat sihir.

Dan tiba-tiba saja, dunia di sekitarku jadi lucu dan penuh warna-warni seru.
